Overview: Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) present with unique strengths and weaknesses. A thorough evaluation is necessary to guide treatment. In this webinar, Dr. Barry will:

  • Define diagnostic criteria for ASD and co-morbid conditions (e.g., ADHD, Anxiety, Social Communication Disorder) according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - Fifth Edition (DSM-5)
  • Discuss components of a neuropsychological assessment
  • Identify useful intervention techniques for children with ASD

Presenter: Christine Barry, Ph.D., is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital inh Cleveland, Ohio, and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. She is a member of many professional organizations including the American Psychological Association, Ohio Psychological Association, International Neuropsychological Society, Autism Society of America, and National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. The author of several articles on traumatic brain injury in children, and director of annual community education series on autism, Dr. Barry also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of childre/adolescents with autism spectrum disorders. She is a consultant at Monarch Center for Autism and on the Advisory Committee of Milestones Autism Resources.
