| Incidental Teaching |

Inclusion involves educating all children in regular classrooms, regardless of degree or severity of disability. Effective inclusion takes place with planned system of training and supports; involves collaboration of multidisciplinary team including regular and special educators. 123 |
| Individual Family Service Plan |
Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) is a plan for special services for children with disabilities. The IFSP is set up to identify individualized supports and services that will enhance the child’s development. The plan must include an assessment of child's present level of development, a statement of goals, support services that will be put in place to achieve those goals, date services will begin, name and identification of the service coordinator. 119 |
| Individualized Education Plan |
Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is a plan for every student with a disability who is found to meet the federal and state requirements for special education. The IEP must be designed to provide the child with a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). The IEP refers both to the educational program to be provided to a child with a disability and to the written document that describes that educational program. Key considerations in developing an IEP include assessing students in all areas related to the suspected disability(ies), considering access to the general curriculum, considering how the disability affects the student’s learning, developing goals and objectives that make the biggest difference for the student, and ultimately choosing a placement in the least restrictive environment. 120 |

Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a United States federal law that governs how states and public agencies provide early intervention, special education, and related services to children with disabilities. | Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded (ICF-MR) |
Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded (ICF-MR) is an institution that primarily provides the diagnosis, treatment or rehabilitation of the mentally retarded or persons with related conditions. ICF-MRs provide a protected residential setting, ongoing evaluations, planning, 24-hour supervision, and coordination and integration of health or rehabilitative services to help each individual function at their greatest ability. 124 |
