Agenda:

  • Define and discuss key behavioral terms including antecedent, consequence, motivation, positive & negative reinforcement, and more.
  • Enhance your knowledge of key terminology through an interactive activity (active student responding).
  • Identify and discuss functions of challenging behaviors (e.g., gaining attention, escaping work), which help determine why children engage in different types of behavior.
  • Practice analyzing case study data to generate hypotheses on why children exhibit challenging behaviors.
  • Learn effective interventions to proactively and reactively reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Work collaboratively with others on several case studies to analyze challenging behaviors and develop effective interventions.
  • Time will be provided for Question & Answer.
