Overview:

The goal of this webinar is to increase knowledge of the developmental continuum as it relates to self-regulation, through sensory processing, emotional regulation and executive functioning skills. With this knowledge, caregivers and educators can utilize teaching tools to promote a child’s engagement in meaningful life activities. This course will be led by pediatric occupational therapists who specialize in identifying the strengths and barriers of children with autism, in order to target outcomes for self-regulation across environments. The presentation will include information regarding:

  • The Self-Regulation Model (developed by Anna Greenspan at Monarch Center for Autism) and the building blocks of the developmental continuum

  • Effectively building skills to support children with autism in managing their feelings, emotions and thoughts to foster participation in their learning and working environments
